Outcome of Consultation: Authorising additional surge workforce - Victoria's COVID-19 vaccination program The Society was given the opportunity to comment on the Victorian Department of Health's (VDOH) consultation paper: " Authorising additional surge workforce to participate in Victoria's COVID-19 vaccination program ". In summary, the paper sought to seek consultation on Technologists (relevantly for the Society) and other occupation classifications to administer COVID vaccines. An authority to vaccinate has been signed by the Chief Health Officer of NSW allowing a number of allied health workers, including Nuclear Medicine Technologists, to contribute to the COVID vaccination programme. There are centralised job advertisements proposed for roles across NSW. Individuals who are not current employees of NSW Health will be/are encouraged to apply.
